Children in Years 3 and 4 thoroughly enjoyed their launch day on Friday. We immersed ourselves in a range of exciting activities, including making Roman brooches, designing and creating Roman shields, and researching fascinating facts about life in Roman times. It was a fantastic start to our new topic, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm for learning about the Romans

The World Day of Prayer is a worldwide movement led by Christian women of many traditions who call people together for a special day of prayer on the first Friday in March. More than 120 countries participate in an annual day of celebration which brings together people of various races, cultures and traditions sharing God’s word and worship. This year, we prayed for the people of Nigeria. 

Children in Year 5 enjoyed a morning with the ladies from the churches in Woodstock, preparing resources for the service which included tasting traditional Nigerian foods, decorating stones with positive words and preparing headdresses to wear during the World Day of Prayer service, which took place at Mary Magdalen church on Friday 6 March. The service was an opportunity to reflect, celebrate, sing and share prayers for the people of Nigeria. 

We were also very fortunate to learn more about the country of Nigeria from parents who came to share their Nigerian traditions and culture with the children. 

The Year 2 children went on a fantastic trip to the Cotswold Wildlife Park. We explored the animals and the habitats they live in, linking to our recent Science work. We have also been exploring different climates in Geography. 

Year 3/4 enjoyed a magical topic launch day inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia. The children arrived dressed as characters from the stories and took part in a range of creative activities, including making their own Narnia-themed snow globes. The day was filled with imagination, excitement and a real sense of wonder, setting the scene perfectly for our new topic.
