Year 3/4 Farm Visit
To support this term's curriculum theme 'Field to Fork' and our Curriculum Launch Day, the Year 3/4 phase went to Perdiswell Farm in Woodstock over two mornings. Years 5 & 6 Meet the Greeks
To launch our Autumn topic, many children dressed as Ancient Greeks. We prepared and sampled a range of Greek dips with pitta bread. After two weeks of auditions across the school, Woodstock CE Primary School has crowned its new champion of smash hit show Woodstock's Got Talent. Children were very happy with last night's dinner: pizza! Many of them braved the mud pits in the evening and only a few showers needed unblocking after washing off the layers of mud. After dinner on Tuesday evening (chicken - popular and vegetables - not so popular), we had a riverside walk to a play area beyond the Frontier Centre boundary. We arrived at Frontier Centre for lunch, then made beds (which took a while!) and unpacked. This afternoon, Red Kites tried archery, Falcons went kayaking and Kestrels built (and tested) rafts. Today, Professor Rebecca Nicholls came to visit each phase to deliver a Science session. We enjoyed listening to talks about materials, including the properties of iron and learning about elements in the earth's crust.
