NSPCC Visitors
1 in 5 children in the UK have suffered abuse or neglect1. That’s why, across the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, our NSPCC VISITORS are working to protect children today and prevent abuse from happening tomorrow.
But they can’t reach every child without our student’s help and understanding.
Our visitors talked about how we understand different types of abuse, how to recognise the signs and how to communicate this to a trusted adult. The key message is ‘abuse is not okay and is never a child’s fault’.
When our visitors talked about bullying, they shared a great acronym that we could use. Bullying needs to S.T.O.P. The acronym can helps remind us that bullying happens ‘Several Times On Purpose’.
Whatever your worry, you can talk to childline on 08001111. Talk about you ‘bag of worries’ to a trusted adult.
